  • Lawyers and paralegals who are members in good standing of a Canadian provincial or territorial law society.
  • Notaries who are members in good standing of the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
  • Citizenship or immigration consultants who are members in good standing of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants.

Authorized representatives play a crucial role in the immigration and citizenship application process. They can:

  • Explain and provide advice on your immigration or citizenship options.
  • Assist you in selecting the most suitable immigration program for your needs.
  • Complete and submit your immigration or citizenship application accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate with the Government of Canada on your behalf regarding your application.
  • Represent you in immigration or citizenship applications or hearings.

It’s important to note that if you choose to use an unauthorized representative who charges a fee, your application may be returned or refused by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Therefore, it’s advisable to engage only with authorized representatives who are legally permitted to provide paid immigration or citizenship services.
